Hiker’s Gift

Best Gifts for Hikers

Ah, what are the best gifts for hikers you wonder? This is an open and infinite list of ideas in my opinion.

You can find someone who loves to hike all kinds of different gifts and can even get a better-upgraded version of the gear they have.

When we start hiking, backpacking, or climbing, often we don’t have the money for all the things we really want to buy. So we compromise.

We buy a nice down jacket but skimp on the bag. Or we buy a good pair of hiking boots and skimp on hiking poles. And don’t get me started on the list of things we should have but when we start we are definitely out of our price range.

Top best gifts for hikers:

❤️ Biolite headlamp 200

The headlamp is one of the 10 hiking accessories that hikers should carry on every hike, and one thing you can’t afford too much! Keep one in a bag, in a glove box, or with emergency gear. We both own and love BioLite’s Rechargeable Head Lamps. With a 40-hour runtime of dimmable, red light, strobe, compact design, and less, we know we’ll have plenty of light.

❤️ Worry Performance Jogger Pants

Breathable, moisture-repellent, and incredibly soft, these Woogie jogger pants are super comfortable hiking pants. I just can’t understand how comfortable they are. Semi-loose, comfortable fit means you have a little latitude in choosing the right size.

❤️ A bottle of Katahdin BeFree Water Filter

With a bottle of Katadyn BeFree water filter, almost any natural water source can be converted into clean drinking water. Easy to use filter never needs to be backflush and the soft side pouch takes up minimal space when not in use. This is our water filter for daytime hikes (and backpacking trips).

❤️ REI Co-Op Ducks Back Rain Cover

Many large, multi-day bags come with a built-in rainfly, but most smaller day packs do not. REI makes compact rain covers for a variety of bag sizes from day packs to multi-day packs to ensure that the contents of your packs (electronics, extra layers, etc.) stay dry during the rain.

❤️ Patagonia Nano Puff

One of our favorite pieces of hiking apparel: Patagonia’s Nano Puff Jacket is an excellent mid-layer option with synthetic primlift insulation. It’s not as fluffy as a down jacket, so it fits well under other layers and can be easily packed when you don’t wear it. Available in both men and women.

❤️ Smartwool Merino 250 base layer

These long-sleeved SmartWool 250 tops are essential for hiking in cold weather. Merino wool traps heat close to the body and removes excess moisture. These are super versatile long sleeve shirts that are perfect for hiking in spring, autumn, and winter.

❤️ Nocs Provision waterproof binoculars

We’ve recently gotten interested in watching casual amateur birds and find that having a pair of compact binoculars on the trail really adds to our hiking experience. Being able to see wildlife from afar has made us more aware (and curious) of the environment around us. This will be a great gift for any hiker who is interested in the natural world around him.

❤️ Microspikes

We like to extend our hiking season through winter hiking, but proper traction is an absolute must! That’s why we highly recommend getting a pair of microspikes. Snow, ice, or more snow than ice, you’ve never stepped on as confidently as you would wear microspikes. They easily slip on your normal shoes, making them very easy to take off and off.

❤️ First-aid boxes

Medical supplies don’t last forever, so if you’ve been carrying an old first aid kit for years, it may be time to start with some new supplies. A compact first aid kit should be carried on each supplement. This pre-made first aid kit is great because it has all the basics you need throughout the day.

❤️ Darn Tough Hiker Socks.

Woolen socks are a great gift for hikers. You want to give them, and hikers want to receive them! This is a perfect exchange. But seriously, one of the easiest and most satisfying pleasures of life is to wear a brand new fleece sock. We have a variety of Darn Tuff socks and these hiker microcirculation socks are perfect for almost all types of hiking.

❤️ Vuori Halo hoodie

This boat is absolutely amazing. The battery is a soft, moisture-repellent, breathable fabric unlike any other piece of fabric I’ve ever owned. This pullover hoodie is a great mid-layer to enhance the day of the season.

❤️ Yoga for hikers

The best way to stay hiking during the off-season is to stay lumber. Yoga for Hikers offers a variety of yoga poses designed specifically for hikers.

❤️ Bottle Bright

Does your water bottle smell that faint “water bottle funk” no matter how many times you wash it? It may be time to do a shock treatment with Bottle Bright. Just add warm water and some of these soluble tablets and let the shiny bubbles do all the work. We do this with all our water bottles in the spring so we can start the season right.

❤️ REI Co-Op Multi Towel

It’s always a good idea to have one of these compact, quick-drying towels with you on the go. You never know when you’ll come across irreplaceable swimming holes!

❤️ Anchor 10,000mh power bank

Whether it’s a cell phone, a GPS, a headlamp, or a DSLR camera – there are many things a hiker needs to keep in charge. That’s why we always carry a portable battery bank and charger with us whenever we travel. This power bank assures us that we will always have enough battery to stay charged.

❤️ Kojo Coffee + Rip Van Waffles

This is a perfect storage device! Combining a delicious cup of Kojo with pure Rop Van Wafels Buttery, caramel-filled stroopwafels, this is a hiking gift that will definitely go a long way! Doesn’t that sound like a great feast to be enjoyed on a peak?
